RCI cells
RCI cells
As you might already know EcoQuest’s exclusive ActivPure technology uses RCI cells instead of simple UV bulbs. Don’t get it wrong though, because every RCI cell obviously contains a UV bulb, but the overall structure of this element is a bit more sophisticated. Anyway, if you want to put it simple - RCI cell is the core element of your Fresh Air purifier (Fresh Air 2.0 and above) which helps neutralizing viruses, bacteria, and other harmful airborne substances polluting your indoor environment. In addition to that, unique UV light properties also allow our air purifiers to eliminate bad odors, unpleasant smells, and reduce the overall level of pollution indoors. How does it work?
If you look closely, you will surely notice that the RCI cell’s surface looks like a honeycomb, but what you cannot notice that this surface area is also shielded with unique oxidation paint. When UV light from the powerful bulb installed inside passes through holes it activates the paint and initiates the oxidation process. We’ve carefully recreated natural oxidation that occurs in the sunlight, meaning that any viruses or bacteria cannot survive this critical blow to their molecular structure. The same rule applies to bad smells and their sources, the processed air removes the source of the problem leaving you to breathe in clean and refreshed environment.
Additional info
In our RCI cells we’re using special honeycomb targets that have increased efficiency covering areas larger up to six-times in comparison with standard flat targets. Although our RCI cells utilizing powerful UVX bulbs with a long life-cycle, they do burn out eventually. Even if this does not happen we recommend you to replace RCI cells every year.
