UV Lamps
UV Lamps
Directed UV light is an extremely effective weapon for eliminating various contaminants that pollute air indoors. EcoQuest adapted UV light for air purifying needs and removing viruses, bacteria, and germs, thus enhancing standard air filtering technology that was primarily focusing on neutralizing only heavy particles of harmful airborne substances. You might have heard myths about harmful impact of UV light on human organism, but the truth is that directed UV light in air purifiers is no more harmful than UV in the sunlight. For obvious reasons, you should not ever try to touch or look at a UV bulb while it is operational, but we made sure that it is impossible for you to get harmful exposure to UV light while using our air purifiers.
Using UV lights for cleaning purposes allows us to reduce significantly the overall level of pollution indoors including various normally unreachable places like, for example, plenum areas. This technology has proved its efficiency and now it is also commonly used for water cleaning.
Just like other complementing parts UV bulbs might break or burn out, but this problem can be easily solved with a replacement. When time comes, you will receive a «Replace Lamp» notification popped up on unit’s display. Before proceeding to extraction of the old UV bulb please make sure that the unit is turned off and also avoid looking directly at the lamp, if it is still on. All EcoQuest air purifiers feature low-maintenance design, so you won’t have to worry about frequent service checks and bulb replacements. Even if you are using your EcoQuest air purifier on a daily basis, you won’t need more than one bulb per year (or even two years in case you have one of the advanced models).
